Welcome to PROJECT WILDBIRD!
PROJECT WILDBIRD is a landmark study of seed and
feeder preferences of wild birds in the United States and Canada that
began in September 2005 and continues through December 2008.
PROJECT WILDBIRD is inviting all people who feed birds in the United
States and Canada to participate in the study by completing an online
survey of your backyard feeding experiences. The survey asks people
about why they feed birds and what will make the bird feeding experience
better. It will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and is ideal
for individuals of all ages with a passion for wild birds. By tallying
the surveys completed across the U.S. and Canada, we will have a better
understanding of how the bird feeding experience can be enhanced. This
will lead to greater enjoyment by the general public for feeding the
birds. Give your views on bird feeding now!
More Information about PROJECT WILDBIRD
PROJECT WILDBIRD is a scientific study of feeds and feeders preferred
by birds in different geographic regions and seasons of the year. Upon
completion, PROJECT WILDBIRD will be the most comprehensive study on
bird feeding ever performed. The study results will provide people who
feed birds with scientifically-substantiated recommendations on the best
feeds and feeders to attract birds.
PROJECT WILDBIRD is the inaugural study of the WBFI Research
Foundation, a not-for-profit charitable foundation promoting the
scientific study of wild bird feeding.
Within this website, you will find an overview of the study, how you
can support PROJECT WILDBIRD through your financial and in-kind
contributions, and how you can become a citizen scientist and
participate in PROJECT WILDBIRD.
